Have you heard about Disney's Give a Day, Get a Day? Well, all you have to do is click on the link below, and sign up to volunteer for a project in your area and then you will receive your free Disney park pass. Registration begins on January 1, 2010. Please note, because there are only 1 million tickets to be given out nationwide, it is highly suggested to register on January 1st. Remember, you do not have to complete your volunteer project in January, just register with the site.

When can volunteers start signing up for projects and where?
Volunteers can search for and registering for volunteer opportunities starting Jan 1, 2010. They register through www.disneyparks.com.
Volunteers must pre-register and sign up for eligible volunteer opportunities at DisneyParks.com. If they don’t follow this process they will not be eligible to receive a certificate.
How many tickets are available?
Ticket quantities for this program are limited to 1 million – when you confirm that you are signed-up for a volunteer project, this does reserve you a certificate, but if you do not participate, you will not receive a certificate.
How old does a participant have to be?
Volunteers must be at least age 6 to participate.
Can groups of volunteers sign up?
Members of the same household (same address) can sign up to volunteer together on www.disneyparks.com. Other groups (that are not a household) need to register individually and can sign up for the same opportunity, if space allows.
A group of Temecula cheerleaders felt awful when 6-year-old football fan Aidan Inman was diagnosed with cancer. So they tried to make him feel better, then decided to spread cheer to other ill children, too.
They made stuffed bears for Aidan and his sisters at Build-A-Bear at The Promenade in Temecula. "Aidan does not let that thing go," Jennifer Inman, his mother, said. It's dressed in Charger colors; a button in its paw triggers a Pop Warner cheer.
But three bears weren't enough.
Each cheerleader made a stuffed bear, paying for it on her own, and the team delivered the bears to San Diego's Rady's Children's Hospital where Aidan is receiving chemotherapy.

Olive B. Loss Elementary School launched their “Hats Off to Reading” challenge on Jan. 16 with a special assembly for first graders. Guests from the Wilmington University cheerleading team and their mascot, Wilco, kicked off the event with death-defying stunts and tumbling set to music.
Principal Lorraine Lybarger read the story of “Rotten Ralph” by award-winning children’s author Jack Gantos. While she was narrating the tale, cheerleaders acted out the parts, bringing the book to life for the school’s youngest readers.
Afterward, students were challenged to read 40 books each. To inspire them, Wilmington University performed an “R.E.A.D.” cheer developed specially for that morning. Within minutes, the entire building was rocking. The grand finale included a human cheerleading “tunnel” that students jogged through while receiving high five of encouragement.

Legacy High School Cheerleaders are adding to the list of charities that they are helping all over the communities of Colorado. Several members of the squad, and some of their parents, gave up their Saturday afternoon to spend it at the Denver Ronald McDonald House to help with several chores that were needed to keep this wonderful house in tip top shape. The girls cleaned and cleaned, organized playrooms and did various jobs all around the huge Center. One of the parents, Tim Bottoms, was even the handyman for the day! The girls that volunteered were: Heidi Pierce, Michelle Sisneros, Ashley Gottino, Jordyn Wagner, Kendell McNulty, Katie Anderson, Alex Vanderboogaard, Chelsea Beamer and Kelli Demy.

If you want to break the ice between a shy 7-year-old Oklahoma girl in a brand new pink wheelchair and the dozens of Maine cheerleaders who helped raise $2,200 to give it to her, suggest they all sing a Taylor Swift song.
That did the trick Saturday at Marshwood High School in South Berwick, Maine, when Dru Baker and her sister, Ivee, 9, of Colbert, Okla., led the Wells High School and Maine Stars cheerleaders in Swift's "Our Song."

The San Marcos High School (SMHS) Striking Rattler Cheerleaders pitched in for the San Marcos River Cleanup on March 7.
Despite warning about fire ants and snakes, the cheerleaders did their part to make sure the San Marcos River stayed clean. Following the cleanup, participants enjoyed hamburgers and drinks, courtesy of the local Leauge of United Latin-American Citizens (LULAC) chapter.
LULAC sponsored the river cleanup, providing breakfast tacos and coffee to participants.
